I did a summer research with Ramon Carreno to study parasites in sunfish and I feel amazed by their delicate structure. I came across an article that has something to do with biofuel and parasites AT THE SAME TIME! They found several species of nematodes in switch grass and Miscanthus, and it was said that those nematodes reduces the level of biomass in these plants. I am curious about what they do to sustain their parasitic life cycle in these plants? Are they able to break down cellulose? If they do, those parasites can be of great value for biofuel production.
