Virgin Atlantic Biofuel Plane

A recent article reported that a 747 airplane made a flight from London to Amsterdam using a biofuel- kerosene fuel mix.  Virgin Airlines owner, Sir Richard Bransen hyped the event up to the extreme trying as much as possible to publicize the event to the fullest, even though the plane’s fuel mix is approximately 80 percent kerosene. The Biodiesel from Imperium Renewables is composed of babassu oil and coconut oil. Babassu oil comes from a tree in Brazil. Imperium Renewables is a very large-scale fuel company that is also experimenting with algae-based biodiesel and recently opened up a 100 million gallon a year refinery.
