According to an article published in 2008 called Biodiesel Manufactured with Chicken Oil published in Acta Scientiarum Technology researchers in Brazil examined the conversion of chicken oil into into a biofuel additive. Unfortunately I was not able to access the full article, but the abstract proved interesting. Chicken oil is the byproduct produced when chicken meat is manufactured. This would be another way to reduce the carbon cycle by using an existing by product. A potential problem with this idea would be the land use change that could result from it. Chicken are dependent on grain for a food stock. If the demand for chicken increases than the demand for grain will also increase leading to an overall increase in the amount of land that needs to be cleared to meet the grain demand.
